Two Thieves-Two Choices

Ever wonder why there were two crosses next to Christ? Why not six or ten? Ever wonder why Jesus was in the center? Why not on far right or far left? Could it be that two crosses on the hill symbolize one of God's greatest gifts? The gift of choice.

The two criminals have so much in common. Convicted by the same system. Condemned to the same death. Surrounded by the same crowd. Equally close to the same Jesus. In fact, they begin with the same sarcasm. "the two criminals also said cruel things to Jesus"- Matt 27:44

But one changed. "He said, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.' Jesus said to him, 'I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise' "- Luke 23:42-43

Think about the thief who repented. Though we know little about him, we know this. He made some bad mistakes in life. He chose the wrong crowd, the wrong morals, the wrong behavior. But would you consider his life a waste? Is he spending eternity reaping the fruit of all the bad choices he made? No, just the opposite. He is enjoying the fruit of the one good choice he made. In the end all his bad choices were redeemed by a solitary good one.

You've made some bad choices in life, haven't you? You look back over your life and say, "if only . . .if only I could make up for those bad choices. " You can. One good choice for eternity offsets a thousand bad ones on earth.

The choice is yours

Body Language of Prayer

Folded-Hands-and-Closed-Eyes
is not the mandatory posture for prayer.

Praying isn't necessarily calm and sedate
for a Jesus Follower.

It is . . . it is a real child
interacting with the real Father.

Posture isn't something to be forced,

it is to reflect a person's interaction with God.

Prayer can be

as aerobic
as it is contemplative,

as angry
as it is thankful.

The bible is full of accounts of folks
bowing,
dancing,
crying,
raising hands. . .
all in prayer!

Once,while Jesus was praying,
His sweat
became like great
drops
of blood
falling down on the ground!

If someone's confused,
they should ask questions!

If they're angry,
they should be yelling!

Whether said while kneeling beside a bed,
walking along a street,
driving on the freeway
or taking a morning shower,

prayer is to be genuine.

There is no prerequisite posture.

It is a child and a Father, talking.

Terrible ones?

The other day i went to the commentators seminar hold by Mr Neil Ma(i think thats how you spell his name) because i was persuade by Jess to go...

So I went with a open mind~

The talk itself was good and very eye opening!i kinda like it!but in the end it was spoiled by a couple of "grumpy" old people....yeah you heard me~haha!

i mean yes true that the Life Mass doesn't necessary we followed the EXACT way of mass proceedings and yes we do have new and inexperience readers or to say Lectors.I agree that we do need to use Liturgical Hymns instead of Devotional songs. But remember that we are LIFEMASS,we serve the youths in general and it is for the youths. True that it says there avoid using devotional songs but it didnt say it is a MUST right?(I found a loophole in the deal). From my experience in World Youth Day in Australia,we used alot and i mean ALOT of devotional songs in the mass. And all the clergy and Archibishops and even the Pope wasnt bothered by it.Why?because WYD is for the youths, exactly how Life Mass is for the youths as well!and for your information,we DO use liturgical Hymns as well k?

Secondly, why on earth are you complaining about the mass is too long? The church is the House of God and IT IS our HOME. Arent we supposed to be spending time with God in His house? And not bothering about going home early or going to eat?I find it really nonsense if someone is complaining bout the mass being too long. Whats the point of you going to mass if you want to go back early? Its only once a week and you are already complaining,so you MUST have the wrong spirit to start off with.

Thirdly, you are complaining that we sing the communion songs for too long when the priest have already sitten down.True,we do make that mistakes sometimes. But i just want to say this, when the body of God which is the bread enters our body,Jesus is IN us.What we are merely doing is that we are worshipping God in body and spirit. We call upon the Holy Spirit to be upon us so that we can worship God truely and truthfully!

Lastly, you complain about us we are lousy readers or to say "the youths are the terrible ones". You said about if you don't have the voice to begin with then don't read! You will be a joke.Comparing us to the horrible ones in American Idol.Ok,let me start in my defence of the "terrible ones" Which church has the most youths that regularly proclaiming the word of God?Yes other churches has some but only a few which you can count with 1 hand.Only Sacred heart cathedral has the most young readers.True that we are not well trained and we are very inexeprience to begin with. But all this can be solve if people start to do something about it and not COMPLAINING.As the ADVISOR of the lectionary Ministry, dont you think its part of your job to train us?not?Isnt it you duty to help the younger ones to stand up?Stop complaining and start helping us out because apparently YOU are the only one that knows everything. We don't have the resources and the people to train ourselves.I promise you that if we are being trained and helped out,we will be the new lectors in the future.

I can only imagine if people start to support us,the church will be on fire!REVIVAL of the youths!REVIVAL OF THE CHURCH!

sorry for the harsh words though :P

GOD BLESS@@!@!@@!

peace and harmony?

9:73, "O Prophet! Struggle against the unbelievers and hypocrites and be harsh with them"

9:5 Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free.

4:89, They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper

the Prophet Muhammad has said several times that those who convert from Islam should be killed if they refuse to come back, Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, kindness and integrity...

Anyone find d last one amusing??

I did not try to insult anyone or anything..but its clearly stated here....

Laughter is d best medicine!!INDEED!~

Laughter is the best medicine after all...

A man came into the ER (emergency room) and yells, "My wife's going to have her baby in the cab!" I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's dress, and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed that there were several cabs, and I was in the wrong one.

At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. "Big breaths," I instructed. "Yes, they used to be," remorsed the patient.

One day I had to be the bearer of bad news when I told a wife that her husband had died of a massive myocardial infarct. Not more than five minutes later, I heard her reporting to the rest of the family that he had died of a "massive internal fart."

I was performing a complete physical, including the visual acuity test. I placed the patient twenty feet from the chart and began, "Cover your right eye with your hand." He read the 20/20 line perfectly. "Now your left." Again, a flawless read. "Now both," I requested. There was silence. He couldn't even read the large E on the top line. I turned and discovered that he had done exactly what I had asked; he was standing there with both his eyes covered. I was laughing too hard to finish the exam.

During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his medications. "Which one?" I asked. "The patch. The nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running out of places to put it!" I had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see...Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body! Now the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a new one.

While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, "How long have you been bedridden?" After a look of complete confusion she answered... "Why, not for about twenty years-when my husband was alive."
